Last issue we showed blocks by Kimber Pekora created with a machine embroidered center motif. Well brace yourself because here is her gorgeous completed quilt!

Kimber added sashing with beautiful silk ribbon embroidered vines. A prize winner for sure!

While working on an Autumn panel, I decided I needed some lacy leaves so tried my hand at freemotion embroidery. I hooped in a regular embroidery hoop a piece of illusion tulle, drew an outline with an air soluble pen, and stitched away! Here are my results and how I plan on using them. All they need are a few acorns.

There are many free designs available on the web for lacy items that are fun to use and can be stitched out in any color you need! Below is are examples of a motifs stitched in gold metallic thread on black organza. One shows the motif, the other shows another, a fan, embellished.

If you have used your sewing or embroidery machine in you CQ work, please share pictures!
