This issue we have concentrated on "how-to" projects for small gifts. A number of these are just right for teachers, club members and emergency gifts to have on hand during the Holiday season.

Mary Engells gives us her opinion of Helen Gibb's great new book Ribbonwork: The Complete Guide (Techniques for Making Flowers and Trimmings) and Helen Gibb has provided us with a taste of the book in the cover project Vintage Brooch with Buds for this issue

Rissa Peace Root gives us a "A Look at Organized Expressions™ for Needleworkers" a great software package to keep our stash organized.

Our Sponsors this issue are Maureen Greeson and LNS Software, please stop by their web sites and see the great products they have to offer.

The Readers Showcase drawings this issue were won by Mary Engells who won the Brazilian Embroidery instruction booklet Verana by Maria A. Freitas and 101 Crazy Quilt Blocks by Linda Causee was won by Andrea Beacroft. Send me your snail mail addresses so I can mail you prizes.

We are now accepting submissions for the January 2005 issue so send in your pictures for the Readers Showcase and get your name in the drawing for Ribbonwork: The Complete Guide (Techniques for Making Flowers and Trimmings) by Helen Gibb. Depending on the number of entries we will draw for one or two additional prizes. Remember you can enter multiple pictures but your name goes in the hat only once.

If you have an idea or suggestion for an article on any CQ subject, we would love to hear from you. We will try to get the subject covered unless you would like to write it up yourself . We have staff that will be able to help with the writing if you want help. Your input and suggestions will help CQMagOnline to grow.

Our themes for the coming year will be:

  • January 2005: Embellishing with lace, trims, ribbons, beads and found objects
  • April 2005: Victorian crazy quilts and antique "look-a-likes"
  • July 2005: Stitched "critters" and insects as well as stuffed "critters"
  • October 2005: Wearables including clothes and all accessories.

Have a safe, happy Holiday Season and a healthy, prosperous New Year.

Until next time,
Nora
