THE BEADED OBJECT

Making Gorgeous Flowers and other Decorative Items
By: Mary Jo Hiney
ISBN: 0-8069-7435-4
Sterling Publishing Co., Inc.

I never pass up an opportunity to look through a selection of books devoted to my addiction: crazy quilting, silk ribbon embroidery, beading, etc.

This is a wonderful book filled with many inspiring designs. Although many are wired and designed to stand alone, I've found them easily adaptable to embellishing on fabric. Lily of the Valley is one of the designs I adapted for a seam treatment using beading thread instead of wire.

In the 128 pages of this book you will find garlands, fruit, roses, flowers, leaves, snowflakes, holly, butterflies, dragonflies, etc. and enough inspiration to keep one busy for months. If you are interested in beading, this book would be a wonderful addition to your library.

I had the privilege of meeting Mary Jo at the Houston Quilt Market this year. She is a fabulous artist who has provided a great deal of inspiration to many, including myself.
