Begin by Tracing the pattern on the foundation square. Select a fabric for the section marked #1. Cut the fabric for #1 section adding 1/4" seam allowance. Use the pattern provided. Pin the #1 fabric to your foundation square using the traced pattern as your guide

**Choose the fabric for the #2 section and place it right side down on top of the #1 section, making sure to align the edge of #2 with the edge of #1 along the seam allowance. Pin in place. Sew (by hand or machine) along the line between #1 and #2 only. Trim excess fabric from the seam allowance as needed. Remove the pins from the #2 fabric. Flip the #2 fabric so the right side is showing. The #2 section of the foundation should now be covered with your selected fabric piece. Trim away any excess fabric that may be covering other sections, but be sure to leave at least 1/4" seam allowance on all seams of each section.

You will now continue from ** for the following #3 to 11 sections. You can remove the pin from the #1 section after you stitch the #2 fabric into place. Press the seams as you go.

Stitching order:

#3 section, align #3 fabric right side down on top of the #1 - #2 sections and stitch along the line between #1 - #2 and the #3 section.

#4 section, align #4 fabric right side down on top of the #1 - #3 sections and stitch along the line joining #4 to #1 - #3.

#5 section, align #5 fabric right side down on top of the #1 - #4 sections and stitch along the line joining #1 - #4 to the #5 section.

#6 section, align #6 fabric right side down on top of the #5 - #1 - #2 sections and stitch along the line joining #1 - #2 - #5 and the #6 section.

#7 section, align #7 fabric right side down on top of the #3-#4 sections and stitch along the line joining #3 - #4 and the #7 section.

#8 section, align #8 fabric right side down on top of the #2 - #3 - #6 - #7 sections and stitch along the line joining #6 - #3 - #2 - #7 and the #8 section.

#9 section, align #9 fabric right side down on top of the #7 - #4 - #5 sections and stitch along the line joining #7 - #4 - #5 and the #9 section.

#10 section, align #10 fabric right side down on top of the #9 - #5 - #6 sections and stitch along the line joining #9 - #5 - #6 and the #10 section.

#11 section, align #11 fabric right side down on top of the #6 - #8 sections and stitch along the line joining #6 - #8 and the #11 section.

I hope this has made piecing a Crazy Quilt block a little easier for you.

Tips:

You may wish to add a small border to the edge , depending on how you want to finish your piece.

You may also want to press the seams as you go along.

If embellishing, be sure not to take embellishments too close to edge, to make assembling it later easier, beads, buttons etc can break if they are too close to the outer seam.
