In the early 1900s, various needlework techniques and patterns were printed and published in ladies magazines, booklets, and pamphlets. This pattern for a crocheted lace trim is an original design from a 1917 edition of Modern Priscilla. ![]() Here's a picture of the lace as it was originally printed in the booklet. And this was the original pattern...mistakes and all!
Pattern Notes: Joining double crochet cluster (j-dc cl): [yo hook, insert hook through space, yo and draw up a loop (lp), yo, skip 2 tr, insert hook in space, yo and draw up a lp, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook.] To Make: Turn lace to work on starting chain edge. Join in top of first tr, * 2 double crochet (dc) in each space 4 times, dc, j-dc cl, dc, 2 dc in each space 4 times, 7 dc in 5 chain space, repeat from * to end of trim, fasten off. ![]() Trim using the corrected instructions |
