I started making these faux pearl spiders a very long time ago.  Spiders and their webs are very important symbols of luck in Crazy Quilting.

Their construction is simple and faux pearls come in a variety of sizes and colors. Ideally, use the largest diameter for the abdomen and a slightly smaller one for the head.  There are always eight legs and you can use the smallest diameter faux pearls or matching pearl finished seed beads. Sometimes I glue the head and body together and allow it to dry on a straight pin before I sew it onto the project.
