An Encyclopedia of Ribbon Embroidery Birds, Butterflies and BlossomsDeanna Hall WestISBN: 0-88195-755-0 American School of Needlework Although this book has been on the book store shelves since 1996 it is worth a review again in keeping with our "critters" theme. There are ninety six different birds, butterflies and bugs shown both in color photographs of the stitched "critter" as well as a diagram of how you can stitch it yourself. There are 4 pages of color photographs in addition to the color front and back covers. In addition to the "critters" there are several pages of more unusual florals, some mice, frogs, a rabbit, squirrel and bringing up the end a turtle. Ms. West makes it easy to stitch even "critters" you are not familiar with. This has been a great resource for me over the years and is well worth another look.
