There were some stumbling blocks along the way, but I am pleased to announce the first issue of 2008 published a couple of days early!  In this issue we have featured Barbara Blankenship's "Ideas and Inspiration Challenge," reports from the Houston International Quilt Market and Festival, plus a healthy selection of treats: techniques, projects, book reviews and the Block of the Issue.

I hope that you will enjoy this issue of CQMagOnline and look forward to your feedback.  In coming issues, we will continue to spotlight Barbara's "Ideas and Inspiration Challenge," so please send her your favorites for inclusion in the April issue.  I want to thank those of you who took the time to submit your ideas and inspiration for this issue, I think it made for an interesting article.

I also want to thank those of you who submitted photos for the Readers' Showcase.  The magazine just would not be the same without your contributions.  We are a magazine for Crazy Quilters, by Crazy Quilters, and that means you!

While I am thanking people, I need to mention the CQMagOnline Staff for turning in articles, despite the hectic holiday season.  I appreciate your help more than you gals will ever know.  When we came down to the wire and did not have a Block of the Issue, you all managed to come up with one and plan out the BOI for the next two issues.  You all are CQMagOnline's greatest asset.

I also want to thank Nora Creeach for her untiring devotion to CQMagOnline, even while she is so very ill.  At this point, I have taken over all aspects of editing and publishing, but I still send Nora the occasional email regarding the magazine.  As for the staff, I know they miss Nora's calm demeanor and tireless efforts to keep this publication a going concern.  When our web servers were upgraded to a new platform and I was unable to publish or edit real time, I went a little bonkers.  Nora would have just taken it in stride, even though it happened in the middle of final proofing and edits.  She certainly has left me some big shoes to fill!

Read and enjoy,
