Browsing through all the various blogs on the Internet reveals an infinite amount of talent and creativity within our stitching community. With this in mind, I would like to present a challenge for 2009.

Throughout the year CQMagOnline would like for all of you to submit an article for publication. The topic can be anything related to crazy quilting: project tutorials, new techniques, silk ribbon embroidery ideas, book reviews, product reviews and how you use them, etc. We ask that you observe copyright rules and give credit when appropriate. Our staff will be available to help with any of these issues.

At market I discussed this upcoming challenge with a number of vendors asking if they would consider sponsoring the contest. At present we have Bo Nash, Clover, Kreinik, Hanah Silks, and Stonecreek Creations. These merchants will be providing some great prizes to be awarded to the first and second place winning articles.

I will be asking one additional staff member to join me in judging the articles. In addition I will appoint two judges not affiliated with the magazine. The contest will be open to any reader with the exception of current staff.

Every article meeting the requirements will be published throughout the year. Please send your articles and accompanying pictures via email to

We all love “eye candy” and the higher resolution .jpg will provide a much better picture for publication. Please contact me at the email address above for any questions or concerns.

This is an excellent opportunity to share with others who enjoy this wonderful art form. So sharpen those pencils, get your paper, and begin writing your articles. We will accept submissions through October 1 and winners will be announced in the October issue.
