Despite being published in 2009, I only just discovered this book. It is one of the most inspiring craft
books that I have seen in recent history, and not just because I love
dogs. One of the attendees at the 2010 EGA National Seminar created
three Artist Trading Cards using three different dog motifs from this book.
I pestered her for the information about patterns and she referred me
to this book, which she found at her local JoAnn's. As soon as I got
back home, I ordered a copy from Amazon and have not been
disappointed.
The designs and instructions are great. Although I am already
familiar with most of the stitches and techniques used, they are well broken
down and diagrammed. It is also a great introduction into some basic
Stumpwork techniques. I think that any crazy quilter who wanted to add
dog and cat motifs to her blocks would greatly enjoy this amazing book.
It is well worth the investment, even if you only use one or two of these
motifs.
I am including photos of the Artist Trading Cards made by Carla Morley,
using some of these motifs. I am so proud to have these in my
collection!
