For several years we at Crazy Quilting International have participated in an annual project for Making Memories, an organization that assists women with metastatic breast cancer and breast cancer research. They send donated wedding dresses to willing stitchers to re-purpose into quilts, wall hangings, table runners, etc. This year, Debbie Higgins graciously consented to create two beautiful wall hangings for us! Aren't they wonderful?

We have already begun stitching for the 2010 project, and we are looking forward to seeing some fabulous eye candy. Anyone is welcome to participate in this worthy cause! If you are interested, so I can share the guidelines and some wedding dress fabric!!

You can see more photos, along with single block close ups at the CQI blog. Our pal, Jo Newsham, started this blog in July 2007 as a way of making photos of the beautiful work being done at CQI available to a large online audience. Cathy Kizerian has recently taken the blog over and has added photo after photo of great blocks, mini quilts, and the numerous projects going on at all times at CQI. It's a great celebration of all sorts of needle art, fabulous bead work and every kind of embellishment that can possibly be dreamed up by many talented CQ artists. Take a look--but be prepared to stay awhile! http://crazyquiltinginternational.blogspot.com/
